About

My name is Mike Mbanza. I am a husband and a father of four children. I’ve lived in North Liberty for over 9 years.

I attended the University of Iowa where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Human Physiology and The Western Michigan University Cooley Law School where I earned a law degree.

In 2013, I founded a nonprofit organization, Path of Hope, with the mission to help low-income families in the State of Iowa. Path of Hope has changed the lives of many low-income families in the State. Today, Path of Hope offers its services from 4 different corners of the State and it’s serving more people than ever before.

I work as a nonprofit executive.

I volunteer for the City of North Liberty where I serve a Neighborhood Ambassador for the Scanlon Farms. Having served as an Ambassador for almost three years, I have learned more about the city operations, resources, and programs that I never knew existed. (Did you know North Liberty has a Youth Council where High School Students engage more deeply with the city and advocate for other young people in North Liberty?) More importantly, this program brought me closer to city residents and local businesses. I am able to disseminate accurate information to our residents and local businesses directly from the city thanks to Great Neighborhood Initiatives of the City of North Liberty.

I love reading history and philosophy books;  I enjoy playing tennis and golf; and I love spending time with friends and families.
